30/07/08 High Performance Manager Brett Mace has arrived in Hong Kong and sends us the news from the Olympic Village. Saturday saw the opening of the Hong Kong Olympic Village (HKV) along with the arrival of the first horses. The Australian Team was one of the first to be checked into the Olympic Village with Russ Withers, the Deputy Chef de Mission with the responsibility for the sub-site of Equestrian and Sailing, and myself as Section Manager and Team Leader forming the advance party to prepare for the arrival of the team on 30 and 31 July. As has been reported previously, the stable complex is first class and to help offset the limited room, additional air conditioned tack rooms/offices have been put in at the end of each stable block.
